Alumni Spotlight: Paulina Valeria Guerra Pazmiño

Paulina’s Journey with JVF Solutions

Meet Paulina, an ambitious junior at Framingham State University (FSU) with Ecuadorian roots and a growing passion for marketing and communications. A lover of long walks with music or podcasts, crime and musical series, and quality time with friends, Paulina brings a well-rounded and curious spirit to everything she does, including her professional journey.

While attending MassBay Community College (MBCC), a friend who had recently interviewed with JVF Solutions introduced her to James, the founder. That introduction became the foundation of a transformative experience that has helped shape Paulina’s career path. “My experience with them has been amazing,” she shares. “I have grown professionally and as a person. James opened my eyes to new opportunities and knowledge, as well as introducing me to incredible and dedicated people.”

At JVF Solutions, Paulina started out focusing on digital marketing for a diverse roster of clients. Her day-to-day tasks included creating social media content, videos, and maintaining websites. Over time, her role evolved. Thanks to James’s mentorship and encouragement, she stepped into the world of website design—a field she had never explored before. Despite having no prior background in coding or web development, Paulina took on the challenge headfirst, learning tools like WordPress and Divi and applying her new skills to real projects.

During her time at JVF, she contributed to nearly a dozen clients in meaningful ways. Some standout projects included managing social media for CAPE HEADSTART, building websites for My Care Community and the FSU Entrepreneur Innovation Center, and writing blog posts for SOURCE Framingham. Each project gave her more than just experience—it gave her confidence and a sense of purpose.

One of the most inspiring moments came early in her internship, when she was invited to join a meeting with a high-volume prospective client. “James encouraged me to participate and share my ideas,” she recalls. “The meeting ended very favorably, and it increased my confidence when talking to new clients.” That level of trust and hands-on experience is what set this internship apart from the rest.

When asked about the most valuable skills she gained, Paulina highlights both technical and personal growth. Beyond learning website tools, she developed a greater understanding of how to build genuine, impactful relationships with clients—something she believes is key to long-term success. “JVF has taught me that it is possible to do business and create a positive and amicable relationship with the clients while making an impact on our community.”

Looking ahead, Paulina aspires to work as an International Student Coordinator at a university. She hopes to use her own experiences as an international student, combined with her skills in marketing and communication, to help others broaden their horizons and embrace new cultures.

What she enjoyed most at JVF Solutions was the peaceful work environment and a leadership style that prioritized independence and creativity. “James’s management style is not micromanaging, which allows for individual growth and creative development,” she says.

For other young professionals considering a marketing internship, Paulina offers this advice: “Research your industry. It is always good to have an idea of the industry you are about to enter, so once you are there, you know how to react. Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know—everything can be learned, but you must be willing to be taught and make an effort to learn.”

Paulina’s journey is proof that with the right guidance, open-mindedness, and determination, an internship can become a launchpad for something much bigger.

Paulina is continuing to work with JVF Solutions as a web intern this summer and we can’t wait to see what the future holds as she continues to grow, lead, and uplift others in her community and beyond.
